Job Duties: Attention: The
University of Wisconsin-Whitewater (UWW) seeks a student-centered, collaborative, and forward-thinking professional to serve as the
Associate Director of Student Engagement for Student Greek Community & Student Organizations (Student Affairs Associate Director, AE123), a
unit in Student Engagement under the Division of Student Affairs.
Position Summary: This position advances student
success, leadership development, belonging, and community impact by establishing vision and standards for a thriving Greek community
alongside Recognized Student Organizations. The role provides comprehensive oversight of the Greek Community (20+ chapters), emphasizing
values-based leadership, academic excellence, inclusive community building, and lifelong connection. Through intentional advising, program
development, assessment, and strategic partnerships, the position supports organizational success while promoting accountability, risk
management, and alignment with organization expectations.
Reporting to the Executive Director of Student Engagement, the Associate
Director serves on the Student Engagement Leadership Team and provides strategic oversight for involvement initiatives that align with
institutional priorities, Universities of Wisconsin policies, and applicable state and federal regulations. The role emphasizes inclusive
excellence, student learning, and a strong sense of belonging by fostering a healthy and high-performing student engagement experience. This
includes advancing recruitment and retention practices, supporting leadership roles and opportunities, and accountability processes, and
promoting harm reduction, community standards, and member well-being. The Associate Director cultivates collaborative relationships with
advisors, alumni, national headquarters staff, and campus partners to strengthen the overall student experience and ensure a positive and
impactful presence within the campus and surrounding community.
Responsibilities: Greek Community Leadership &
Strategic Initiatives - Establish and advance a comprehensive strategic vision for the Greek Community centered on student success,
belonging, leadership development, and accountability.
- Align Greek Community initiatives with institutional priorities, Council for
Advancement Standards in Higher Education (CAS), and national best practices.
- Lead long-term planning efforts that strengthen
community relevance, sustainability, and growth across all councils.
- Provide direct advising to one or more of the four governing
councils.
- Champion a values-based Greek experience that emphasizes scholarship, service, leadership, and ethical
conduct.
- Expand and support inclusive membership practices, enhancing recruitment, retention, and access for diverse student
populations.
- Collaborate with campus and national partners to support chapter development, expansion, and organizational
success.
- Strengthen advisor engagement by developing structured onboarding, training, and on-going support
initiatives.
- Promote Greek Community through intentional storytelling, signature events, and campus partnerships.
- Utilize
assessment data and community feedback to inform strategic priorities, resource allocation, and continuous improvement
efforts.
Student Organizations & Strategic Initiatives - Establish and advance a strategic vision for
recognized student organizations that promotes student engagement, leadership development, and a strong sense of belonging.
- Align
student organization initiatives with institutional priorities, CAS standards, and best practices in Student Affairs.
- Expand access
and reduce barriers to involvement by supporting inclusive practices in organization development, recruitment, and
participation.
- Position student organizations as central contributors to co-curricular learning, and student
success.
- Develop and enhance systems that support organization registration, training, funding, and ongoing
advising.
- Provide advising frameworks and resources that enhance organizational continuity, advisor engagement, and leadership
transitions.
Organizational Support - Provide operational guidance on policies, risk management, event
planning, and financial practices to support organizational success.
- Oversee budgets for Segregated University Fee (SUF)-funded
recognized student organizations, ensuring compliance and responsible stewardship.
- Contribute to Student Engagement financial
processes including resource allocation, forecasting, and fiscal monitoring.
- In partnership with Marketing & Creative Strategies,
develop and execute comprehensive marketing strategies to increase visibility and engagement across campus and the
community.
- Prepare requested data and annual reports that contribute to unit, divisional, and institutional assessment
initiatives.
- Assist in implementing Student Engagement initiatives related to unit strategic plan and program
development.
- Direct supervision of Program Specialist for Greek Community and Program Specialist for Recognized Student
Organizations
- Indirect supervisor of the Program Specialist for Organization Support, Graduate Assistant(s), graduate practicum
assistants, and/or student employees
- Participate in evening and weekend responsibilities as required to support student engagement
activities

financial, administrative, and staffing resources and alignment with the strategic plan
- Exercises supervisory authority,
including hiring, transferring, suspending, promoting, managing conduct and performance, discharging, assigning, rewarding, disciplining,
and/or approving hours worked of at least 2.0 full-time equivalent (FTE) employees

Activities and Involvement
Compensation: Well-qualified candidates can expect a starting annual salary within the range
of $73,000 - $78,000 commensurate with the candidate's education, related experience, and qualifications.

Required Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Communication, Leadership, Counseling, Education, or
related field.
- 4 years of progressive student affairs experience, including at least 3 years professional advising of fraternities,
sororities, and/or societies.
- Experience working with inter/national fraternity, sorority, and society
organizations.
Preferred Qualifications: - Master's degree in Higher Education Administration, Student Affairs,
Counseling, or related field.
- Demonstrated experience supervising full-time professional staff, including hiring, training,
performance management, and professional development.
- Experience with outcomes-based assessment and program
evaluation.
- Demonstrated knowledge of CAS Standards for Fraternity and Sorority Advising Programs.
- Strong data analysis and
strategic planning skills.
- Demonstrated ability to design programs that foster student engagement, inclusion, and community
building.
- Experience advising student leaders in event planning, risk management, and program logistics.
Knowledge,
Skills, and Abilities: - Demonstrated knowledge of student development theory and its application to organizational
advising.
- Demonstrated experience in risk management, compliance, and/or crisis response.
- Demonstrated experience managing,
monitoring, reconciling, allocating, and tracking organizational or unit budgets and funds.
- Willingness and ability to be an active
participant in following applicable safety rules and regulations including necessary training and drills
- Ability to interact
respectfully with people from diverse socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds
