SCOPE OF WORKThe functions listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this class. Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the job as necessary.
Responsible for strategic direction and execution for all assigned operating sections within the Transportation Department.
Leads and oversees the management of all service delivery, including rolling stock maintenance, to ensure service commitments are met.
Monitors performance and ensures tracking of KPI's and analyzes data for trends providing responses for improvement.
Facilitates solutions to problems for all operations, employees, and customers. Collaborates with key stakeholders where necessary.
Assists with strategic planning for operations future needs and deliverables. Strives for continuous improvement across all operations sections.
Oversees and ensures compliance with the formulation and execution of the annual budgets.
Prepares, assists, and responds to various audits. Creates action plans for deficiencies.
Represents Broward County Transportation at Board of County Commissioner meetings, constituent meetings, transportation events, public functions, etc.
Attends Operations related seminars, conferences, trainings to increase knowledge base and learn best newest practices.
Participates in Union negotiations, grievances, arbitrations, etc.
Ensures employee performance management is executed fairly and timely.
Assists with recruitment of vacant positions.
Ensures that a culture of safety is promoted throughout the organization.
Performs other work as assigned.
