Job Description

Patient Access Representative

We are seeking Patient Access Representative for a large healthcare system based out of Massachusetts.

This is a contract role for 13 weeks.

Summary:

The Patient Access Representative is responsible for supporting patient access and front-office operations to enhance the overall patient experience and clinic revenue. This role involves patient registration, scheduling, insurance verification, and payment collection within a fast-paced medical office environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review, update, and maintain accurate patient demographic and registration information
  • Verify insurance coverage and scan required documentation at the time of service
  • Obtain referral and waiver forms as needed
  • Collect co-payments and self-pay balances
  • Greet and check in patients, ensuring a positive experience
  • Schedule various types of appointments using electronic systems
  • Enter and manage managed care referrals
  • Handle inbound and outbound calls and manage work queues
  • Provide general information and support to patients and visitors
  • Perform additional administrative duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a medical office setting
  • Ophthalmology experience preferred
