Plant Manager:
I am partnered with Large a well-established and growing structural steel fabrication company, to identify a strong Plant Manager to lead day-to-day manufacturing operations and drive performance across the facility. This is a high-impact leadership role for someone who thrives in fast-paced production environments and understands steel fabrication operations.
My client is a company dedicated to delivering high-quality steel products and custom solutions for industrial, commercial, and construction applications. With deep industry expertise and a commitment to excellence, SC Steel provides superior fabrication, manufacturing, and customer support to meet the unique needs of our clients. Their fabrication capabilities can take on projects up to 20K tons with over 100K sq-ft of under roof fabrication space.
The Opportunity
This role will oversee production, safety, quality, scheduling, and team leadership while working closely with executive leadership to support company growth. The ideal candidate brings hands-on operational leadership experience and a continuous improvement mindset.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage all plant operations including fabrication, production scheduling, material flow, and manpower planning
Drive production efficiency while maintaining high quality and safety standards
Manage supervisors and department leads, including hiring, training, coaching, and performance management
Implement process improvements to reduce waste, improve throughput, and control costs
Ensure OSHA compliance and promote a strong safety culture
Monitor KPIs including productivity, labor efficiency, scrap, on-time delivery, and profitability
Collaborate with engineering, estimating, project management, and sales teams
Maintain equipment uptime and oversee preventative maintenance programs
Qualifications
5+ years of manufacturing leadership experience (steel fabrication or heavy industrial preferred)
Previous Plant Manager, Operations Manager, or Production Manager experience strongly preferred
Strong knowledge of fabrication workflows, welding processes, shop equipment, and production planning
Proven ability to lead teams, improve performance, and scale operations
Experience managing budgets, labor costs, and operational metrics
