Senior Accountant

Plano, TX (Hybrid – 3 days in office / 2 remote)

Compensation: Up to $105K base + 10% bonus

About the Opportunity

A private equity–backed retail company in Plano is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its corporate accounting team. The organization supports 200+ locations across the United States and continues to expand through acquisitions and operational growth. This role offers exposure to a fast-paced, multi-location business within a collaborative finance team.

Position Overview

Reporting to the Controller, the Senior Accountant will support the company’s financial close and reporting processes while helping maintain accurate financial records across a multi-unit operating environment. The role works closely with accounting, operations, and finance teams to ensure financial activity is recorded accurately and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Support monthly close activities including journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance
• Assist with preparation of internal financial reports and supporting schedules
• Reconcile key accounts including cash, credit cards, and operational accounts
• Investigate and resolve financial variances or discrepancies
• Partner with operations, payroll, AP, and FP&A to address accounting matters
• Assist with audit support and documentation requests
• Contribute to process improvements and support accounting-related projects

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• Approximately 4+ years of accounting experience
• Experience in multi-location businesses such as restaurant, retail, or hospitality environments is required
• Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and GAAP principles
• Proficiency in Excel and experience with accounting systems or ERP platforms
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
