We are actively seeking an experienced Shipping and Receiving Supervisor to join and grow in the PPG organization.

The Shipping and Receiving Supervisor is responsible for providing leadership, direction, and oversight of all shipping, receiving, and material movement activities in support of production operations. This position develops and leads a team focused on safety, quality, inventory accuracy, regulatory compliance, and on-time customer delivery.

Requirements:
  • Provide day-to-day leadership, coaching, and performance management for all Shipping and Receiving personnel.
  • Interview, train, and develop team members to build organizational capability.
  • Conduct performance evaluations, establish employee development plans, and address performance issues in a timely and consistent manner.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
  • Develop staffing plans and manage labor resources to meet production schedules and customer delivery commitments.
  • Lead daily department meetings to communicate priorities, safety topics, and operational expectations.
  • Direct all inbound and outbound material flow activities to support manufacturing operations.
  • Ensure shipping, receiving, warehousing, packaging, and inventory transactions are completed accurately and efficiently.
  • Oversee scheduling and prioritization of shipments based on customer requirements and production demands.
  • Collaborate with Production, Planning, Purchasing, Quality, and Customer Service to proactively resolve material shortages and shipping constraints.
  • Ensure ERP transactions are completed accurately and in real time.
  • Ensure compliance with AS9100, ITAR, EAR, DFARS, CMMC, NADCAP, and customer-specific requirements.
  • Maintain material traceability, serialization, and documentation throughout the shipping and receiving process.
  • Lead department preparation for customer, internal, and third-party audits.
  • Investigate shipping discrepancies, inventory variances, and customer complaints, implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Develop and monitor departmental KPIs and communicate results to leadership.
  • Identify opportunities to improve productivity, warehouse organization, inventory accuracy, freight costs, and material flow.
  • Lead Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives within the department.
  • Standardize work instructions and ensure compliance through regular audits.

Knowledge, skills, and abilities

  • High School diploma or GED required
  • Associates degree preferred
  • Demonstrated experience leading teams of hourly employees in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with employee coaching, performance management, scheduling, and workforce planning.
  • Strong understanding of warehouse management, inventory control, logistics, and ERP systems.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive operational improvements.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and decision-making skills.
  • Experience supporting AS9100-certified manufacturing operations preferred.
  • Proficient using Windows PC operating system
  • Ability to prioritize day to day activities in the most efficient manner
  • Ability and willingness to proactively plan next days priorities 
  • Ability and willingness to adapt to unanticipated schedule changes
  • Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of management in a professional manner
  • Excellent time management skills required
  • Ability to plan direct, time efficient routes for pickups and deliveries

Compensation details: 65000-75000 Yearly Salary
