IT Talent Development Specialist

Columbus, OH (Hybrid)

Brooksource is looking for an IT Talent Development Specialist to join our client’s organization. In this role you will be responsible for the design, development, maintenance, and management of training content and talent development initiatives, supporting the growth and development of Information Technology professionals. This role drives collaborative efforts with subject matter experts (SMEs) to create training solutions, and to coordinate and manage talent development initiatives aligned with technology strategies. They assist in the assessment of training content and talent development initiatives to identify potential gaps and recommend improvements while promoting a culture and mindset of continuous learning, development, and innovation.

Detailed Description:

This role drives collaborative efforts with leadership and subject matter experts (SMEs) to create training solutions and to design, coordinate, and manage talent development initiatives aligned with technology strategies. They lead the assessment of training content and talent development initiatives to identify potential gaps, recommend and implement improvements while promoting a culture and mindset of continuous learning, development .

Responsibilities:

  • Drive sessions with SMEs to identify and understand talent development needs within technology.
  • Create and deliver program and training communications using various delivery channels.
  • Design and create and edit podcasts and videos supporting talent development initiatives and programs.
  • Plan and execute delivery of talent development programs, CoPs/CoEs, and forums for Technology colleagues.
  • Coordinate and facilitate program training sessions, workshops, and events (e.g., scheduling, material creation, communication, tech setup, etc.).
  • Collaborate with Talent Development Specialists and SMEs to design, develop, and distribute program content and resources.
  • Design and develop programs meeting identified Information Technology talent development needs and initiatives.
  • Track and analyze program participation and feedback to determine effectiveness, identify gaps, and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Maintain and update individual program SharePoint sites, Wikis, and Knowledge Bases.
  • Drive collaboration sessions with Technology SMEs to identify talent development initiative needs and to support career development pathways.
  • Provide career development support and guidance to Technology colleagues.
  • Collaborate with SMEs to recommend training and certifications for Information Technology roles.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert within Technology regarding Technology Talent Development initiatives and programs
  • Stay current on technology, learning and development trends, and organizational goals to identify and recommend potential opportunities for new talent development initiatives.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to Talent Development Specialists
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in instructional design, curriculum design, or in the design, development, and delivery of talent development initiatives in a technology organization.
  • Strong interest in technology and experience supporting the growth and development of Information Technology professionals.
  • Strong experience planning, scheduling, and coordinating logistics for various types of talent development talent development initiatives (e.g., special events, workshops, forums, training, etc.).
  • Experience designing, planning, and delivering talent development programs and initiatives.
  • Strong experience supporting the ongoing delivery of talent development programs and initiatives with the ability to drive continuous improvement in the programs.
  • Strong experience driving the creation of and editing content for newsletters, podcasts, videos, and other communication deliverables using different channels and tools.
  • Strong experience designing, creating, and editing talent development initiatives and training content for SharePoint sites, Wiki sites, workflows, and forms.
  • Strong experience gathering and analyzing data to identify trends and gaps, recommend improvements and opportunities, create reporting and metrics.
  • Strong interest in emerging technologies with experience crafting training initiatives / programs around them.
  • Strong proven understanding of software development lifecycles (SDLC), Agile, DevOps, etc. with the ability to correlate them into talent development talent development initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of technology roles, organizational structure, and certifications.
  • Strong storytelling and communication skills to engage technical and non-technical audiences.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in an Information Technology role.
  • Experience supporting Talent Development Talent development initiatives in an Information Technology organization.
  • Ability to use data visualization tools such as Tableau to report on learning impact.
  • Understanding of DEI best practices in learning and development leadership.
  • Basic understanding of change management principles.
