Overview
Medical Social Worker – Everett, WA. Start date: 05/26/2026. Duration: 8 weeks. Weekly pay: $1,571–$1,638 per week. Guaranteed hours: 70 hours per 2-week pay period. Shift: 4x10 days. Travel assignment in a hospital setting with a Level II Trauma Center serving adult and geriatric patients across two nearby campuses. This role supports first-timers and accepts pending licenses; locals are not required to be local. EPIC charting is required and the position involves regular floating within skill set.

Responsibilities
- Conduct psychosocial assessments for adults and geriatrics in acute-care settings; identify discharge planning needs and coordinate care transitions with the interdisciplinary team
- Lead discharge planning and care coordination across Med-Surg, long LOS, and ED, supported by case management
- Provide patient and family education, resource referrals, and ongoing psychosocial support to address barriers to timely discharge
- Document assessments, plans, and outcomes in EPIC; participate in interdisciplinary rounds and care conferences
- Float across hospital areas and two campuses as needed; collaborate with PT, Interpretation Services, Social Services, Pharmacy, Transportation
- Maintain compliance with internal protocols, including holiday coverage and time-off requests

Requirements
- Licenses: Active Washington state clinical social work license in hand; LICSW or LSWAIC preferred; non-clinical LASW, LSWAA acceptable
- Certification: BLS required
- Experience: Minimum 1 year of clinical experience with acute care and discharge planning/care coordination; strong preference for case management across Med-Surg, LLOS, and ED
- Education: Education requirements as stated in job notes; eligible for WA MSW roles with the listed license types
- Additional: Ability to work in a Level II trauma hospital setting; EPIC charting experience required; must be willing to float regularly; orientation is 40 hours; pre-approved time off available (1); must commit to participating in 3 of the 5 major holidays
- Compliance notes: Provide 2 references covering 1 year within the last 3 years; disclose background/Nursys issues at submittal; include requested RTO at submittal
