Business Analyst – Manufacturing Operations Applications

Location: Shenandoah, Iowa

Are you passionate about using technology to improve how things are made? Join our Information Technology team as a Manufacturing Operations Business Analyst , where you’ll play a critical role in optimizing plant systems, improving processes, and driving operational excellence.

In this role, you’ll be the bridge between manufacturing operations and IT, partnering closely with plant leadership, corporate IT, and external vendors to deliver scalable, reliable, and forward‑thinking technology solutions. Your work will have a direct, visible impact on efficiency, performance, and the future of our manufacturing operations.

What You’ll Do:

Requirements & Business Analysis

  • Partner with manufacturing and business stakeholders to gather, document, and analyze system and process requirements.
  • Conduct thoughtful needs assessments to uncover opportunities for improvement.
  • Collaborate with Corporate IT and other manufacturing plants to share best practices and standardize efficient solutions.

System Design & Solution Delivery

  • Translate business needs into clear functional specifications and system designs.
  • Work closely with development and technical teams to ensure high‑quality, on‑time delivery.
  • Create and manage reports and metrics that drive continuous improvement.

Process Improvement & Plant IT Leadership

  • Serve as the primary IT leader at the plant, supporting strategic initiatives, and transformation efforts.
  • Evaluate current systems and workflows, identify inefficiencies, and recommend innovative solutions.
  • Champion continuous improvement and Industry 4.0 technologies.

Project Coordination & Execution

  • Support IT projects from concept through implementation—on time and within scope.
  • Coordinate across cross‑functional teams to ensure alignment and smooth execution.
  • Develop and communicate detailed project plans, milestones, and timelines to IT and plant leadership.

Testing, Reliability & Business Continuity

  • Create and execute test plans to validate system performance and functionality.
  • Investigate, document, and resolve system defects and issues.
  • Support business continuity and disaster recovery planning to keep operations running smoothly.

User Support & Enablement

  • Maintain and support ERP and Intelligent Operations applications.
  • Provide user support and training to drive adoption and effectiveness.
  • Develop clear documentation and user guides.
  • Participate in shared 24x7 support coverage, scheduled maintenance, and disaster recovery activities.

Communication & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Communicate clearly and consistently with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Present insights, recommendations, and project updates to leadership with confidence.

What You’ll Bring:

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, Systems Analyst, or similar role supporting IT or operations.
  • Strong understanding of business processes, data analysis, and enterprise IT systems.
  • Excellent problem‑solving, communication, and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Agile, Scrum, or other project management methodologies.
  • Certifications such as CBAP or PMP .
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing processes, including order processing, scheduling, purchasing, quality, BOMs, configurators, and shop‑floor systems.
